Get to know PR Director, of her own company, Yael Freifeldt through these five essential questions.
My two-year-old daughter, who usually wakes up between 05:00 and 05:30 in the morning. I am most certainly not a morning-person, but with small kids it is not an option ;-)
My life right now is a wonderful mix of time with my amazing children, my wonderful husband and a job that I love. It’s often chaotic, but in a good way ☺
I find it hard. When you’re self-employed and love your job, you can work all the time. I try to put my phone away when I pick up my kids from school and kindergarten and just spend time with them. It is sometimes easier said than done. As a business owner, you are almost never truly off and even though I am on the floor playing Duplo with my little daughter or at a football match with my son, I sometimes have to answer a call or reply to an email or other work-related stuff. I try to sort in what’s important to reply to in the moment and what is not; some things can easily wait to the following day or the evening when the kids are asleep. My boyfriend and I often work in the evening when the kids are asleep – he is also self-employed.
I think there are a lot of turning points in my life but when I became a mother to my oldest son Noah, almost ten years ago at 28 years old, it was a very big and personal turning point for me. I went from partying every weekend in London with all my friends to being forced to deal with diapers, breastfeeding and way too little sleep.
Another turning point in my life was when I started my own business 5 years ago. It was a dream I’ve had for many years, which became a reality due to many different factors.
Oh, so many things inspire me. My showroom is packed with a lot of beautiful new collections in the most beautiful colours and prints. I look at them every day and become super inspired, praying for spring to soon arrive. I am crazy about the French brand Indress’ pretty and peculiar universe – with lots of feathers, silk and pastel colours.
