The AW19 Collection

aw19

Brigitte Bardot, Bianca Jagger and Catherine Deneuve are in many ways the essence of the liberated fashion scene of the seventies, where style was a matter of statement whether dressed in large vintage Afghan furs or teeny tiny hotpants. The same freedom and liberated style is the inspiration behind the Notabene AW19 collection.

There are women with great style and then there are women whose style is so unique and amazing that it becomes iconic. We all recall Brigitte Bardot’s sexy hair and sultry black eyes or Farrah Fawcett in the unforgettable Charlie’s Angles? The seventies was in every way a defining decade lead by the 70’s woman who was strong, sexy and never the less unforgettable.

The same iconic strength and style repeats in the Notabene AW19 collection where the seventies reference is subtle yet recognizable. There is not a lot of “That seventies show” references to trace in the line of boots - the seventies theme is instead shown in the exquisite leather materials such as crocodile, leather bend and soft suede, as well as in the color scheme consisting of numerous shades of brown, dark purple and the inevitable black. The boots take shape after a classic - yet sexy silhouette with over-knee versions in soft suede and leather booties with thin heels. The collection also entails cool pumps in crocodile imprinted leather and black pony.

There are references to the casual sexy seventies woman and the more edgy woman who wants to stand out from the crowd. The cowboy references from the SS19 collection continues into fall where favorites such as Anara and Khan are accompanied by new classics such as Chaka and Keaton.

This season’s boots, shoes and stilettos are created from a desire that they, just like the women they are named after, can become iconic and indispensable in any wardrobe, because when do one ever regret wearing a pair of high crocodile imprinted leather boots in a hot cognac color?

The AW19 campaign takes place in the picturesque Bellevue Theater, drawn by the beloved architect Arne Jacobsen, which works as the perfect setting. Cecilie Lassen is once again the face of the collection as Notabene’s top pick for a modern icon anno 2019.
